Narrative — Films & Documentary

A narrative studio, first.

Aris is CEO and Co-Founder of Blue Oak Productions — a narrative-first film studio based between Memphis and New York. Blue Oak develops and produces short films, features, and documentary work with a small circle of writers, directors, and producers who share a single standard of craft.

Every commercial and brand project Aris directs is shaped by this work. The same care, the same treatment-led process, the same belief that the audience deserves to be trusted with something felt.

SHAPING THE STORY

As Tin Soldiers developed, the research process included conversations with psychologists and other subject-matter specialists to better ground the story. Approaching a subject as expansive as children’s mental health within a short narrative format proved both challenging and deeply meaningful. The script went through numerous drafts before production, with entire concepts, scenes, and characters ultimately being refined, reworked, or removed in service of clarity and focus.
